About 100 kilometers from Ujjain, in the Agar Malwa district, lies the Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda. This temple is situated on the banks of the Lakundar River and holds significant religious and tantric importance. The idol of Maa Baglamukhi in the temple is believed to be from the Pandava era, as mentioned in the Kalika Purana. The idols in the temple include Maa Baglamukhi in the center, with Maa Mahalakshmi on the right and Maa Saraswati on the left in the form of sacred stones (Pindis). During the Dwapar Yuga, when the Pandavas were in exile, Lord Krishna advised them to worship Maa Baglamukhi. Among the ten Mahavidyas, Maa Baglamukhi is the eighth Mahavidya. This temple is more than 500 years old and is regarded as the principal Siddha Peeth (sacred site) in India, known as the Trishakti Temple in Nalkheda. To the east of the temple is a cremation ground (Muktidham), which is used as a site for spiritual practices and tantra rituals.
